Introducing the Logo
We thought we’d share more of the story about the Holdmine icon and what it stands for. There’s a few elements to it, but let’s start with the finger print component …
Secure/finger ID - Unique
Firstly, hopefully you can see it looks a little like a fingerprint. Back in the 19th century, it was discovered that no two people have fingerprints the same. Cool huh? Since then it’s been used as a unique identifier.
Patterns are cool! Edward Henry recognized that fingerprints could be described as having three basic patterns – arches, loops and whorls. Our logo has more arches and loops, apparently, whorls are the most common and are found in about 25-25% of fingerprints.
Because of the uniqueness of fingerprints, they’re often used as personal identifiers, and as a device for security.
Apple was the first to use fingerprints for phone/tech identity. They introduced Touch ID on the 2013's iPhone 5S, and has been included on every subsequent iPhone until it was replaced with Face ID on the iPhone X.
It’s the mix of individuality, uniqueness and security that means this type of icon is perfect for Holdmine.
